The mathematical material
-
A major problem:
how to tie a person's work to him (or her)?
In other words, I look up Dirichlet,
I see a link to all kinds of things
with his name attached. But in most of these,
Dirichlet himself is lost in a vast sea of material.
-
How to give casual readers some idea of
what a person's work is?
-
How to make the articles
more readable, more interesting,
without sacrificing accuracy?
-
Use more and cleverer pictures in explanations.
Pictures often convey ideas quickly.
Explanations of mathematics to the world at large
can probably be done only by pictures.
But this is a lost art for most mathematicians.
-
More (better) survey articles,
summarizing quickly the flow of ideas.
Better coordination of articles
on mathematicians who worked together.
