Grading: is based on
- homework (including spreadsheet projects) (15%)
- 2 in-class midterm tests (Fri. Oct. 14, Wed. Nov. 9) (35%)
- final exam (Wed. Dec. 14) (50%)
The final examination date is announced later in the term.
Attendance at the final examination is required, so avoid other
commitments (such as travel) until the exam schedule appears.
The final exam will be common to all sections.
Term grades in each section may be scaled (down or up) based on final
exam results.
Homework:
will be assigned weekly.
Late submissions will not be accepted.
You are encouraged to discuss the homework with other students,
but you must produce and write the solutions on your own.
Missed work: will, in general, be given a grade of zero.
If you are unable to write a midterm or hand in
a problem set on time, with a legitimate documented excuse,
the missed assignment will be discarded, and the weighting of
other work will be adjusted to compute the term grade.
