Some Mathematical Applets
Note on Printing
Most web browsers will not print applets directly.
In a Windows system, pressing the PrintScreen key will capture an image
of the desktop. You can paste this into an application such as
Wordpad or Paint, and then print it.
In many Unix systems (e.g. in the Math department computer lab) you
can do the following:
- Use the applet to produce your graph. Resize the browser window (by
dragging the
bottom corners) so that it shows the picture you want
but not too
much more.
- Open an xterm window; resize and move it so that it doesn't overlap
the browser window, at least not the part that you're
interested in printing.
- Enter the following command in the xterm window.
xwd|xpr|lpr
- The mouse cursor turns into a +. Move this into the browser window
and click. You
should hear a beep or two, and then the printer will print a page
showing the browser
window.
