Fall 2009: Étale Cohomology
- The seminar will take place on Tuesdays 12:30-2pm in MATX 1102.
The first, introductory, lecture will take place Tuesday, September 15th.
- Reading Course number: 620D, section 101
- The main reference will be [1] below. For prerequisites, we have to
assume some algebraic geometry, that is familiarity with the notion of an
algebraic variety (ideally, also of ringed spaces, sheaves, and schemes).
A good reference for that is Milne's notes [2] (if you read the beginning
of Hartshorne, it should be enough as well). While [1] also assumes some
homological algebra, we can plan to review it as needed; will probably will
briefly review sheaves as well.
Agenda
(references without number are to Milne's notes)
