Summer Reading Program on the Mathematics of Classical Mechanics

Summer 2024

This reading project is part of the 2024 SRP. The objective is to read through sections of V.I. Arnold's Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics and write a short expository project on one mathematical aspect.

When. The reading group meets on Wednesdays from 12:30pm to 2:00pm in the MATH 204 and Fridays from 10:00am until 11:30am in MATH 104.

Schedule

Below is an approximate schedule, subject to change. Primary reading material will always refer to sections of [Arnold1].

Part I - Reading and project selection.

Part II - Project refinement and Presentations
