Of current interest among historians concerning Archimedes are the questions:

  • How accurate are the current editions and translations of his work?
  • What does the new reading of the Palimpsest tell us?
  • How did Archimedes and others of his contemporaries deal with mathematical diagrams?

A point of perpetual contention is how to translate Archimedes' mathematics for modern readers - how closely to follow the original Greek, and how much use to make of modern notation?

As far as I can see, Wikipedia treats none of these points.
