I retired after 39 years at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and moved to Vancouver where I have an honourary appointment in the Mathematics department at UBC. My main interests are in the mathematical modelling of epidemiological problems and population systems, with emphasis on the dynamical system aspects and approaches. I believe in models which are as simple as possible, as opposed to very detailed and complicated models.
At present I am working on epidemic models, with a time scale short enough to ignore demographic effects, but I have also studied models for endemic situations. |
