For prospective graduate students
My work is in pure mathematics (far from "real-world" applications!), in
an area that involves both algebra and
analysis, called Representation theory of p-adic groups.
I hope to add some more information here later; for now, please see my
research page .
So far, I have been fortunate to work with:
Postdocs
Graduate students
Summer USRA students
- Matthew Koster, 2018 and 2019. (part of the project appears as the
appendix in this
expository article).
- Stefan Dawydiak, 2016. Stefan studied real Lie groups.
- Reginald Simpson (co-supervised with Greg Martin), 2015. Reginald
came up with his own project looking for patterns of divisibility in the
Fibonacci numbers and similar recursively defined sequences.
- Shamil
Asgarli (co-supervised with Sujatha Ramdorai), 2013.
The project was to compute some resolutions of singularities using
SINGULAR.
- Adam Ward, 2007. The project was mostly to learn about Lie
algebras, and to do some computations in sp(6).
