Getting to Vancouver and the UBC campus

By air

The most convenient way to reach Vancouver by air is through the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). From the airport, it is a 20-25 minute drive to the UBC campus and should cost no more than $30 by taxi. By public transit, it should take roughly an hour and cost $3.75 (weekdays before 6.30pm) or $2.50 (weekends and after 6.30pm weekdays).

It is sometimes significantly cheaper to fly into Seattle (SEA) and take a shuttle to Vancouver but this takes longer (3 hours from SEA to Vancouver) and requires a bit more planning.

By car

From central Vancouver to the UBC campus, Google Maps has good advice on route selection. To park on campus, see the UBC Parking Services website.

By train or bus

Both the train and intercity busses stop at the Pacific Central Station.

Passport requirement

As of June 1, 2009, all travelers entering Canada from the US are required to present a passport, whether by air, land or sea. More info.
