Midterms

Midterm 1:
- The syllabus for midterm 1 covers Sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 3.1.
- Here are two past midterms from previous offerings of this course. These should serve as good indicators of the type of problems that you might expect and the level of difficulty.

- The first midterm will be held in class on Wednesday February 11. The allotted time is 50 minutes.
- We will spend two lectures during the week of February 2 on review. Practice problem sheets will be handed out in class for you to work on.
- Office hours for the week of February 2:

- Please note than Monday November 9 is a statutory holiday. UBC will be closed.
- I will be out of town on Tuesday November 10 and will not be able to access email on that day.

Midterm 2:
- The second midterm will be held in class on Monday March 16. The allotted time is 50 minutes.
- The syllabus for midterm 1: Sections 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4.
- A practice midterm from a previous offering of the course. Please note that our version of the exam (unlike Problem 3 of this midterm) will require all "true or false" questions to be answered with adequate justification in order to get credit.

Final Exam
- The final exam will be held on Tuesday April 14 at 8:30 am in HEBB 100. Please bring your student ID.
- The final exam is cumulative and will cover all the sections mentioned in the week-by-week course outline described above.

Please work through the homework and practice problems based on Sections 5.6 and 6.1. Even though the last homework set will not be collected and graded, these two sections are part of the course curriculum. Problems based on the content of these two sections will appear in the final exam.
