Title Modeling of the intermediate filament assembly
Abstract Intermediate filaments are one of the three main components of the cytoskeleton, which is a complex arrangement of structural proteins organized in networks involved in many major cellular functions. Here, a model is designed to study the kinetics of the assembly of individual filaments. The model deals with the dynamics of the length distribution of filaments by taking into account the diffusion properties of rod-like linear aggregates. Different hypotheses are tested by mathematical and computational analyses.
